Two modes of destruction, destruction of the natural world occurred to me. One is the use of resources, the nonrenewable, non sustainable, and thus destructive, annihilatory use of resources. This is a primary form of destruction both in time and for the time being in terms of pure destructiveness.
Unfortunately, there are also the consequences of devouring the world resources. Extinction is one, a particularly unique and horrific crime. The fact that millions of species face this fate due to our current economic system hardly makes capitalism look good! Of course, global warming is another major mode of destruction that is just now being unleashed upon all the planet. No doubt it will eventually prove even more destructive than the primary destruction of resources itself.
